Patrol, Jail and Dispatch Unions Endorse Soyka for Sheriff!
I am pleased to announce that the Stearns County Sheriff’s Office patrol and jail/dispatch unions have decided to ENDORSE me as the top choice for Sheriff!!
On September 25th, my opponent and I had the opportunity to address the Stearns County Sheriff Office employees at an organized forum sponsored by the patrol deputies and jail/dispatch unions. This was our opportunity to let the employees know about ourselves and our visions and plans for the Sheriff’s Office. Of course I already took it upon myself to sit down with each group of the office to find out what issues exist in their respective divisions and what good things and bad things are present. I feel that it is important to learn about the people who make up the Sheriff’s Office and how we can all work together as a team to make the Sheriff’s Office the best it can be.
This past Saturday I received word from the patrol and jail dispatch unions that the employees have decided to ENDORSE me as the candidate of choice for Stearns County Sheriff!! I am extremely happy to accept this endorsement from the employees of the Sheriff’s Office. It means a lot to me to know that they listened to both candidates and believed in my message of working on issues within the agency as a team. I am sure there will be those that will say “of course the employees will endorse the inside guy” however in the history of the unions going back almost 20 years they have not endorsed anyone either inside or outside. The fact that they endorsed in the first place and decided on myself is a true testament to what my message is all about and the direction I hope to take the office. I have every intention of making the Sheriff’s Office the best it can be and through this the service that you the public experience will be exceptional. I look forward to working with everyone as the next Sheriff.
